Appointments

As a modern, forward thinking practice, we wish to give flexibility to our patients and provide the most convenient and efficient service possible.

Our appointment system is based on the principle that all our patients will receive the right care by the right person at the right time.

All services offered in the practice are by appointment only.

We DO NOT offer a walk-in service.

For GP, Clinical Practitioner or urgent same day request, appointments and home visits, please use ask my GP  (for those without internet access, you can still call the surgery and hold to speak to a patient navigators, they will take your information and forward this to the appropriate clinician). 

Please note AMGP is open from Monday morning at 06.30 to 09.00, then reopens at 18.30 until 09.00 Tuesday, this pattern repeats daily up to Friday at 09.00.  However, the system closes at 09.00 on Friday to re-open at 06.30 Monday.   

If you have an urgent matter that needs our clinical team input outside these times, please ring and discuss with our patient navigator team, who will liaise with our duty Doctor.  

For all other types of appointment, such as for annual reviews, blood tests, injections, or to see a Practice Nurse or Health Care Assistant, you need to call the surgery to book this.

Practice Nurses

The nursing team run a range of appointments throughout the day Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 18:00.We try and arrange certain investigations in the morning to ensure they are collected in time by the hospital courier, such as blood tests, swabs and urine samples.

Please let the patient navigators know what you are coming to see the nurse to enable them to allow you the appropriate time for your appointment as certain procedures can take a longer than others.

Text Appointment Reminder

The practice has introduced a free texting service for patients which will also help with the missed appointment rates. If you have a mobile phone we can now send you a reminder of your appointment via text message.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
