Home Visits

Home visits are strictly for patients who feel too unwell to attend the practice, housebound and palliative patients. The facilities for examining and treating patients are much better at the practice, therefore we would prefer you to come in whenever possible.

It is not possible to give a definite time for a home visit, however we do plan the visits after morning surgery. We cannot guarantee which doctor will attend, and you might get a telephone call from the doctor prior to the visit to assess your needs.

Please remember that several patients could be seen in the practice during the time it takes a doctor to do just one home visit, especially when they have several miles to travel.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
